Travertine pool deck: settled slabs reset, cleaned and sealed
Slabs had sunk along the pool and the joints had gone to weeds. The deck's own stone, plus eight replacement slabs, set level, washed with a stone-safe cleaner, re-sanded and sealed.

The brief
A pool deck that had settled at the edge
Travertine around a screened pool, with slabs that had dropped along the pool edge and joints that had opened up and turned into a garden. The stone itself was sound; what it sat on had moved.
The owners supplied eight replacement 24 by 16 slabs. The work was to lift the low run, re-level the base under it, set the slabs flush with the rest, then clean the whole deck, re-sand the joints and seal it. Travertine is a soft calcium stone, so no acid cleaner went anywhere near it.
The work
Before and after
Both sets of frames are cut from the owner's phone video: the first visit in late October, and the walk-through on the last day. There are no photographs of the work in progress on this one.
Before
Weeds rooted in the joints, algae in the shaded corners, and the low run along the pool edge.

After
Low slabs lifted and set level on a re-leveled base, the deck pressure-washed with a stone-safe cleaner, joints re-sanded, then sealed.
